1. Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can ask a browser to retain. Modern websites may also use session storage or local storage to remember limited settings. In this policy, “browser storage” is used as a general term for these technologies where the distinction is not important.
Browser storage can be persistent, remaining until it expires or is removed, or session-based, ending when the relevant browser session closes.
2. Why GameSpotHub uses browser storage
GameSpotHub uses limited storage to remember choices, reduce repeated prompts and support consistent website behavior. These functions help the website respect the preference selected in the cookie banner and remember age confirmation during a browsing session.
The platform does not use browser storage to support payments, deposits, wagers or monetary prizes because those features are not offered.
3. Preference categories
Essential
Essential storage supports choices required for the website to behave as expected. This includes retaining your cookie preference and remembering age confirmation for the current session. These functions do not create a player balance or store payment information.
Preferences
Preference technologies may remember non-essential interface choices if such options are introduced. Optional preference categories should remain off unless you actively choose to allow them.
Measurement
Measurement tools can help website operators understand broad usage patterns and technical performance. GameSpotHub does not preselect this category in the preference banner. If measurement tools are added, this policy and the available controls should be updated accordingly.
Marketing
Marketing technologies can be used by some websites to build advertising profiles or track activity across services. They are not required for the core GameSpotHub browsing experience and are not selected in advance.
4. Storage currently used by the interface
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
gsh-age | Remembers adult age confirmation | Current browser session |
gsh-cookie-choice | Remembers the preference selected in the cookie banner | Until browser storage is cleared |
5. Managing your choices
You can select “Essential Only” or “Allow All” when the preference banner appears. Optional choices are not enabled before you make a selection.
Most browsers allow you to inspect, block or remove stored website data. Clearing GameSpotHub data will remove remembered preferences, so the age confirmation and cookie banner may appear again. Blocking all browser storage may reduce convenience but should not prevent access to basic page content.
6. Browser controls
Browser settings differ by product and version. Look for sections named Privacy, Site Data, Cookies or Storage. You can usually remove information for one website without clearing data for every website.
“Do Not Track” and similar browser signals do not have a single universally applied standard. Where a legally recognized preference signal applies, it should be handled as required by applicable law.
7. Third-party content
A browser game or externally hosted resource may use its own technical storage. Where a separate provider controls that technology, its policies and controls apply. GameSpotHub aims to avoid unnecessary third-party tracking within its core pages.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised when storage practices, website features or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
